Team Bicycle Doctor raise money for Jake!

Jake's Dad, David a keen mountainbike rider happen to mention to jamie the owner of The Bicycle Doctor in porth that he would like to raise some money for the bristol childrens hospital. Jamie was keen to support David and his family having known them for a number of years.

They both decided that the UK's toughest 24 hour Mountainbike Race would be the perfect test - The Mountain Mayhem!!

another couple of riders were recruited to make up a team of four riders.

After hearing the story of little Jake Team Bicycle Doctor members decided also to join the fundraising and enter.

Four Riders will share the 24hour each taking turns on the course. With no time to sleep and little time to eat and rest this really will be a tough challenge !!

Jake was born on the 23rd of May 2007 at the Royal Glamorgan hospital,

he had all the doctors confused with the problem he had, eventually we were told that both his heart valves were leaking and the back pressure was causing his heart to swell.

He spent a month on life support in Cardiff then we had a chance to go to Bristol and have the both valves repaired but we wasn’t sure if he was big and strong enough to make it
